The ROM should have had the save data removed. This game actually allows you to delete the save data, and I believe doing this makes it the equivalent of a sealed dump. So, if you delete the save data in the game, it shouldn't be a bad dump (correct me if I'm wrong).

This was almost a year ago, but I'll reply anyway.

A problem with erasing the save data, at least in my opinion, is that we don't know where it came from. That save data could belong to a programmer or bug tester. That could be considered worth preserving as well.

It's not my decision to make, though, as my opinion on this isn't fact one way or the other. My opinion on this also isn't a strong one either way.
