now:
Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan II - Meijin e no Michi - Shinban Tsumeshougi - Tsugi no Te (Japan) (Promotion Card)
fix:
Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan II - Meijin e no Michi - Shinban Tsumeshougi - Tsugi no Itte (Japan) (Disk Writer)
--

Tsugi no Itte is only one side of this disc (append disk).
Also, to rewrite with a disk writer inside Nintendo, the tag is a Disk Writer.
It is not Promotion Card because it is sold at least.
Selling method to mail it to Nintendo instead of ordinary dealer.

Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan II - Meijin e no Michi[Side A] -> Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan II - Meijin e no Michi[SideB]
=Working games VS Mode and Tsumeshougi Mode(Normal Stage).

Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan II - Meijin e no Michi[Side A] -> Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan II - Meijin e no Michi - Shinban Tsumeshougi - Tsugi no Itte
=Working games VS Mode and Tsumeshougi Mode(Extra Stage).

This data should be 65500 bytes.

次の一手(つぎのいって) / Tsugi no Itte.

Accepted. Thank you. :3

But the nature of this specific release is unspecified in the tag. I'm not sure what would be best. How long did Nintendo sell this game? It is apparently very rare now for some reason.

I don't know how we'd go about titling the specific game sides of this one without ending up with a really long and confusing title.

My English is very cheap as usual, so it may not convey well.
But I will try to explain it.

This title is a very exception.
Disk Writer service was generally used in Japanese game stores(Licensed for Nintendo.).
However, there was also a service to rewrite disk by mailing them to Nintendo for users who live in areas where they can not use the store.
This service survived even after finishing the use of the disc writer at the store.
Tsugi no Itte rewrite service to mail to Nintendo started in 1988/08/10.
All mailing rewriting services ended in 2003/09/30.

Normally, rewriting using both sides must be a single disk.
However, Tsugi no Itte is an exception and it is used as an append disk.
It is not possible to rewrite only the B side of Meijin e no Michi.
It can usually be rewritten to another disk which is used only on one side.
example:
A Side:SMB1 / B Side:[Blank] -> Tsugi no Itte =OK
A SIde:SMB2 / B Side:Volleyball -> Tsugi no Itte =OK
A Side:Meijin e no Michi[Side A] / B Side:Meijin e no Michi[Side B] -> Tsugi no Itte =NG (It is explained as such in the manual.)

Tsugi no Itte must be independent disk data.
Meijin e no Michi[Side A] should not be packed for convenience in the emulator.

I think that using a special tag is one way.
But there is no official Nintendo(and Pony Canyon) notation.
I don't know expressions easy for people in English speaking countries to understand.
[Append Tsumeshougi]? [Extra Tsumeshougi]?
However, at least (Disk Writer) is also required.

May be both Tsumeshougi Mode and Tsugi no Itte Mode were changed.
[Append Mode]? [Extra Mode]? [Append Level]? [Extra Level]?
At least Tsumeshougi was unnecessary.

Yes, I understand completely hkA. Thanks for explaining that. Very helpful. :3 And I agree completely as well. I went about this in the wrong way. This is definitely going to make this an awkward entry to the DOM, but that's what the special tags are for. I'll fix this up later today. I'll use sticky notes to inform users in the future that it is supposed to be only a B side.

On second thought, I might not understand after all.

The way I've understood it is that this game's side B could be added as the side B of any game disk. You can have Volleyball as side A and this Tsugi no Itte as side B. However I now think that maybe I still don't understand.

What exactly was written to the disk one would send to Nintendo? Just this side B?

Disk system is a system aimed at providing new games by rewriting disks.
Almost all titles could be rewritten with a disk writer.
The expression of the example may have been bad.
I think that you understand that the disk card can write on the front and back.
If the new game is only one side, it was possible to rewrite even a disk that already uses both sides.
However, in the case of a both side disk game, it is not possible to rewrite only one side data.
(Repair when one side is damaged is an exception.)
example:
OK:
A Side:SMB1[Sealed and Rewrite] -> SMB2(Most single sided disk games) / B side:[Blank]
A Side:SMB1[Sealed and Rewrite] / B side:[Blank and Rewrite] -> SMB2(Most single sided disk games)

A Side:SMB1[Sealed and Rewrite] -> Zelda no Densetsu(Most both sided disk games)[Side A] / B side:[Blank and Rewrite] -> Zelda no Densetsu [Side B]

A Side:Zelda no Densetsu [Side A] -> SMB2(Most single sided disk games) / B side:Zelda no Densetsu [Side B]

A Side:Zelda no Densetsu [Side A] / B side:Zelda no Densetsu [Side B] -> SMB2(Most single sided disk games)
A Side:Zelda no Densetsu [Side A] -> SMB1(Most single sided disk games) / SMB2(Most single sided disk games)

NG:
A Side:SMB1(All disk games) / B side:[Blank and Rewrite] -> Zelda no Densetsu(Most both sided disk games) [Side A or Side B]
A Side:SMB1(All disk games) -> Zelda no Densetsu(Most both sided disk games) [Side A or Side B] / B side:[Blank and Rewrite]

The A side of Meijin e no Michi is necessary for booting Tsugi no Itte.
Tsugi no Itte is single sided, it can be rewritten in any case.
It is data like B side of Meijin e no Michi.
Meijin e no Michi and Tsugi no Itte are sold independently.
So Tsugi no Itte data should be 65500 bytes.

I think the important questions I have are these:

1: If you were to send a totally blank disk to Nintendo and requested Tsugi no Itte, what would you get?

2: If you were to send a disk which had Volleyball on side A but nothing on side B and requested Tsugi no Itte, what would you get?
hkA » 2017-11-29 21:46:27

1:
It can not receive support.

A both blank nintendo disk card does not exist.
It is necessary to buy the written game (generally sold) disk card(nintendo official) at first.
Although the disk card is a quick disk, rewriting on other than official disk cards was not accepted.
Although it exists for development, it can not receive the service of the diskwriter.
It can be judged because the color of the disk card is different.
There seems to be a shop that rewrites with an informal shop with a special machine, but it is illegal.
Although you can duplicate the disk by using Disk Hacker or Kosodate Gokko etc, support was not accepted in the case of illegal data.

2:
In this case you will be written to B side unless you make a special request.
It is possible to make a request to write to A side.
Whether it is meaningful to the user is different, but it is possible to request writing on side A while side B is blank data.

Disk cards are magnetic cards.
Therefore, it was relatively rare for the data to be damaged for some reason.
However, there are cases that can be rewritten by repairing.
Even in this case you can rewrite to side A if game data A side only.
