Differences in how revisions of roms are tagged (NES)

I have a doubt, Why some revisions of roms are tagged like Rev 1, Rev 2..., others like Rev A, Rev B..., and only in the case of Yie Ar Kung-Fu are marked like Rev 1.2, Rev 1.4?

And why some are tagged like Rev 0A, Rev 0B?

This in a known problem.
Currently there is not a specific rule in Naming Convention v. 2007-10-30.
