Yes, it's me again. Sorry.
The new Puzzle Beta (#2762) is now an actual beta, but it's badly-dumped. The prototype does not use the AVE mapper 79, but the Idea-Tek custom Mapper 173, similar to the original Taiwanese release of the game (#1743); one can see the custom TXC chip in NintendoPlayer's picture (http://www.nintendoplayer.com/prototype/puzzle/). You can see the graphical corruption of the current dump by pressing B during gameplay (switches to the Rock-Paper-Scissors mini-game), or by choosing levels 1-5+ by pressing SELECT at the level selection screen. When dumping using the correct mapper, it will have 32 KiB of CHR-ROM instead of just 16 KiB.
NintendoPlayer seems to purposefully avoid being contacted --- the website has no contact info, and the previous email addresses that people gave me all fail to work ---, but if somebody has a contact, tell him that the following Kazzo script, that was used to dump the Taiwanese release, should work: https://symphoniae.com/nrs/nesdev/Mapper173.ad
Note that so far, only my own NintendulatorNRS (latest build available here: http://bootleg.games/BGC_Forum/index.php?topic=2405.msg18927) fully emulates mapper 173, so only that emulator can be used to verify if any redump is correct.
From what I can tell, the prototype is content-wise in-between the Taiwanese and final U.S. AVE release --- still the Taiwanese version's music, but removing the scantily-clad woman pictures of levels 2-2 and 2-3.
