Star Fox 2 (USA) was renamed to (USA, Europe) region today by aci68. I disapprove this change. The comment that he added basically explains it: "From SNES Mini. ROM is USA, but it was also used for the SNES Mini released in Europe."

The ROMs on the European SNES Mini are all NTSC U/C 60hz. This is no reason to change the region to Europe. Otherwise you'd have to rename the 20 other games to USA, Europe as well (see also: http://forums.no-intro.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2822#p18005 )

Then why they don't do all Usa Europe.
All 20 games are the same on Usa and Europe.

So the proper should ne Usa,Europe then.

When other games are sold in both countries they always get that.
So why should this then be differnt.

If Star Fox 2 was actually released on cartridge back in the day, there would've been a (Europe) PAL ROM as well..

However, these days consoles are 60hz and region free. The European SNES mini is loaded with USA ROMs.

Star Fox 2 (USA) would not work on a European SNES console if flashed to a cartridge. Therefore it's USA.

Bottom line: This datfile is SNES, not SNES Mini. It's a USA SNES rom that is stored on a European SNES Mini. In a SNES Mini datfile it would be (USA, Europe), but in a SNES datfile it's (USA).

Then they can add a special field with : SNES Classic MIni USA,Europe .
Apply tat too all the games that did come from then SNES CLassic Mini.

You stated that this is a SNES only dat file , And the game Starfox 2 did not made it too release only proto version , So this is not a officiele rom cardridge dump like all thoe other games in here.

What would you accomplish exactly by renaming Star Fox 2 (USA) to Star Fox 2 (USA, Europe) (SNES Classic Mini) or whatever, besides having a longer and uglier filename? The ROM itself is USA and the same version that would've been released in 1996. There are no modifications like with all those (Virtual Console) titles, so no need for an extra tag.

I'm going to rest my case. If someone wants to change this filename again and make it inconsistent with the rest of the set, be my guest, but I guess someone with more sense will change it back again in the future.
