This ROM data has all repeated bytes after the 786432 (C0000) point. Notice the 1.0 version is only 786432 bytes instead of 1 MB. I suspect this Rev 1 is an overdump and should be trimmed to be 786432 bytes.

Implemented myself. Please open a new topic if you want to make an argument about the size of the dump.

ROM chip serial and Nintendo lotcheck sheet suggest its 8M, so I've marked the dump as bad (and asked xuom2 if he can dig up the full revision history of this item, so I can confirm the original hash this dump was submitted with and maybe revert it to that)

I honestly don't remember doing this. Nor do I remember why I did this. Even seeing it now I have no recollection whatsoever of this.

If there's valid evidence for changing this back to what it was before I did it, please do. I don't know why I messed with it, but I'm sorry if I made it wrong. I'm glad you bring it up now.

While we're at it, we should be sure both the Rev 0 / 1.0 version is fixed as well unless there's some evidence it shouldn't be.

If you need a quick fix, then chances are you can take the first 262144 bytes and copy them, then paste them on the end. What I called "repeated bytes" before. Definitely seems like a move my old self would've made. Notice the way the "repeated bytes" ends exactly after the trail of zeroes end. Makes it conspicuous as the cut point. Gives a crc32 of 8424CB88.

But if you want to verify it absolutely before making this change, I understand. After all, verifying was what I failed to do back then.

The Rev 0 of this game is verified at the smaller dump size with three identical dumps. It would be good to know how they arrived at that file size. Is there any verification anywhere that the Rev 1 of this game would be larger than the Rev 0?

Hello again. I repaired/restored the buffaloJoe dump using a little logic.

In MAME, the 1.0 rom isn't trimmed. I quickly used the MAME CRC32 info to figure out that their dump has the END bytes of the trimmed dump duplicated at the end to get the full dump. Assuming (hopefully not a mistake to do so this time!) the 1.1 follows the same pattern, I performed the same operation on it.

My previous assumption of how to fix this was erroneous and should be ignored. I was just so ashamed at the time I didn't think of the real solution. Sorry for my prior mistake. One should always document every change! My mistake can be a lesson for everyone.

Okay, I can't seem to preserve my old error on the Datomatic. Editing one entry edits the other. I have no idea how to get around this. If anyone is smarter than me, please do it in my place. :(

Never mind. I actually got smart enough to fix it. I need to clean up now though.

Again, sorry for all of this. I suspect now that I'm a healthier and more mentally-well person, I'll continue to find old things I did that are puzzling and strangely absent from my memory.
